Running from November 12 – 21 at Palace Cinemas Raine Square, we are thrilled to present the 2024 PrideFEST Film Festival!
Opening with the Perth Premiere of a Cannes Film Festival hit, BABY, directed by Marcello Caetano. BABY is a tender, mature story of a teenage boy finding family in the streets of São Paolo. After being released from a juvenile detention centre, 18-year-old Wellington encounters Ronaldo, a mature man who teaches him new ways of surviving. Enjoy this provocative and vibrant tale of queer growth, with a drink on arrival, performances, and party.
Come along to our Camp Night, where we will be presenting the 2010 masterpiece, BURLESQUE. Starring none other than vocal powerhouse Christina Aguilera, and arguably the biggest gay icon of all time, Cher, BURLESQUE is the perfect night out for lovers of highbrow cinema, music, dance, and expression. Enjoy a fabulous ‘Wagon Wheel Watusi’ cocktail on arrival whilst we spin Cher X Christina tracks back-to-back. It doesn’t get more camp than this.
“Finally! This is happening to me!” We are very excited to close the festival with the 30th Anniversary Remastered Edition of Australian queer classic, THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA: QUEEN OF THE DESERT. Enjoy a drink on arrival along with a performance before watching Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce and Terrance Stamp take the adventure of a lifetime, bringing drag to outback Australia. This film brought queer Australian culture to international audiences, and we are delighted to host this special edition for our closing night.
We also have several general sessions on sale with films for all members of the queer community, direct from prestigious international film festivals.
