Be among the first to see award-winning Samoan-born writer/director Miki Magasiva (The Panthers, We Are Still Here) make his feature debut with the heart-warming dramedy, TINĀ (Samoan for "mother"), at a special Golden Club Preview screening!

Samoan teacher Mareta Percival (Anapela Polataivao) is struggling following the death of her daughter in the Christchurch earthquakes. Reluctantly taking on the role of substitute teacher at an elite private school, she is surprised to find children in desperate need of guidance, inspiration and love.

Using the symphony of her culture to empower her students, she forms a choir, bringing the students together while unexpectedly rediscovering her passion for being a teacher and mother. Her students are challenged to step out of their privileged comfort-zones and embrace their "freshness", if they’re to make the "The Big Sing", a competitive all-school choir competition.

Following a record-breaking release in Aotearoa/New Zealand, Tinā has been crowned as a powerful and inspiring crowd pleaser about the healing power of music. Magasiva's stirring feature premiered as the opening night film at the 2024 Hawai’i International Film Festival and won the Best Narrative Feature Audience Award at the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Festival.

- Ikani Naulu, Hawai’i International Film Festival

"Miki Magasiva's haunting and heart-warming debut feature is a simply stunning, crowd-pleasing delight."
