After taking this past awards season by storm with critical and box office success Poor Things, visionary director Yorgos Lanthimos re-teams with the 2023 black comedy stars Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley in this new absurdist anthology story. Its recent premiere at the Cannes Film Festival also saw undisputed auteur’s favourite Jesse Plemons take home the prestigious Best Actor for his exceptional turn.

Kinds of Kindness is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.

Joining Stone, Dafoe, Qualley and Plemons in Lanthomis' extraordinary ensemble cast are Joe Alwyn, Hong Chau, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer in one of his most unrelenting films yet. With filmmaking techniques reminiscent of his earlier works, the director delves into three transgressive and bizarre scenarios, each filled with surreal twists and turns that are sure to leave audiences feeling strangely exhilarated.
