Synopsis
Releasing precisely five years after the critically adored box office smash hit Joker (2019), director Todd Phillips delivers the highly anticipated psychological thriller/musical sequel, JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX. Joaquin Phoenix returns to the role that earned him an Academy Award, Zazie Beetz also reprises her role from the first film, with Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener joining the ensemble cast. JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that's always been inside him. Premiering at the Venice Film Festival, JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX is a mesmerising blend of dark psychological tension and haunting musicality, promising to be a bold cinematic experience unlike anything you've ever seen. Joaquin Phoenix's performance is bound to captivate once more, while Lady Gaga's powerful presence adds a unique and unpredictable energy worthy of Harley Quinn. Combined with Todd Phillips' visionary direction, this sequel not only explores the deeper layers of the Joker's twisted psyche but will also challenge our perceptions of love, madness, and the fine line between them. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable ride into the darkest corners of Gotham's soul.
