To celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary, Danish couple Gerda (Bodil Jørgensen, THE KINGDOM, PERSONA NON GRATAand Kristoffer (Kristian Halken, CAMINO) travel to Rome to relive and immerse themselves in the city where Gerda was once an aspiring art student. When they unexpectedly run into her former art teacher and lover Johannes (Rolf Lassgård, A MAN CALLED OVE), Gerda is reminded of the life she used to live. Their meeting has unforeseen consequences and while Gerda begins to wander the streets of the Eternal City in search of her long-lost youth, Kristoffer is left out.
