Synopsis

Two-time Academy Award nominee Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman, An Education) and Zoe Kazan (The Plot Against America limited series, The Big Sick) are phenomenal as New York Times reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who together broke one of the most important stories in a generation— a story that helped launch the #Metoo movement, shattered decades of silence around the subject of sexual assault in Hollywood and altered our culture forever. The cinematic adaptation of the ground-breaking investigative novel SHE SAID, depicts the remarkable story of how the award-winning reporters, Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey broke the story that changed the world. The duo were awarded the Pulitzer Prize for their agonizing 2017 investigations into the sex crimes of formerly untouchable Hollywood mogul and film producer, Harvey Weinstein. The captivating drama follows their relentless investigations that brought about the downfall of Weinstein and emphasises the necessity of revealing the truth, with astonishing information from hidden sources. Director of the Emmy Award-winning Netflix miniseries Unorthodox, Maria Schrader has masterfully helmed this momentous feature along with experienced playwright Rebecca Lenkiewicz who penned the riveting screenplay. For a story that uncovers the sickening patterns of mistreatment and abuse of women within Hollywood, it’s only fitting that women are in control of bringing the revelations to the big screen and have done so with steadfast compassion and restraint.
