Synopsis

From beloved director Cesc Gay (Truman, The People Upstairs), My Friend Eva is a charming romantic comedy that questions the meaning of love and relationships, as it follows a woman who upends her life to pursue a chance at love. Eva (Nora Navas, Pain and Glory) has just turned 50, has been married for over twenty years and has two teenage children. During a business trip to Rome, she meets scriptwriter Alex and the attraction is instant. She soon remembers what it feels like to fall in love, and it reignites a fire inside of her. Back in Barcelona, Eva has a clear mission; she yearns to fall in love again. So, Eva starts looking for an apartment, craving freedom, with all the seduction and passion that it might entail. But when her decision comes out, everyone is perplexed by the sudden change. Over one year Eva embarks on her quest for romance, but will she find love again?
