Witnessing the reality of life in a war zone is challenging enough – but what about those whose job it is to photograph the day-to-day horrors as they unfold before them? This question lies at the core of award-winning filmmaker Ben Lawrence’s Hearts and Bones.
Australian screen legend Hugo Weaving plays Dan Fisher, a weary war photographer with PTSD who has returned home from yet another overseas assignment where he witnessed unimaginable brutality. Back home in Sydney, he is forced to face the human cost of his work in more ways that one.
Unflinchingly honest but still filled with hope, Hearts and Bones is a powerful moral journey that could quite possibly be considered Hugo Weaving’s most captivating performance yet.
